Soap Use and Care
Goat’s milk soap is delicate and lasts the longest when it can dry between uses. The use of a draining soap dish in your kitchen and bathrooms will help prolong the life of your soap. I am proud to stock natural wood soap dishes that are made in the USA in my shop. Because of their natural wood state, it is recommended to have two soap dishes in rotation, swapping them every 2-3 weeks to give the wood a chance to fully dry. Following this suggestion will prevent mildew from forming on the wood. The good news? They are beautiful, affordable, and easy to add to your next order.
About Handmade Soap
I carefully make each batch of my goat’s milk soap by hand. I don’t have any employees, and though my husband helps me with a few pieces here and there (like building me an amazing soap cutter), I’m the only one who makes the soap. I measure, blend, pour, cut, label, and package your bars of soap with my hands. Most bars of soap sold in my shop are approximately 4.25 ounces. Exact patterns, colors, top textures, and more may vary per batch – but I guarantee they will all be quality soap. If you’d like to learn even more about handmade soap, check out my blog posts about soapmaking.
Soap Ingredients
Organic, safe, and sustainably sourced ingredients are extremely important to me. I carefully choose the source of all ingredients I purchase to use in my handmade goat’s milk soap. Though several of my soaps do contain synthetic fragrance oil, the oils I purchase do not contain phthalates or parabens. I also use micas and oxides to color some of the soaps, but they are purchased from a reputable, trusted source.
As you browse my shop, you will see I offer several categories of soap. If you prefer to use soap that doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrances or colorants, the unscented or essential oil categories are just for you! If you prefer scented soaps, you can still be confident that I’ve done my very best to buy the highest quality, safest ingredients possible.
Please note that even with natural, organic ingredients, sensitivities and allergies can happen. Please check the ingredient list of each individual soap type before purchasing, and if your skin reacts to any product (mine or someone else’s), discontinue use immediately. Though I have some soaps without coconut oil, nut oil, palm oil, etc. I do use the same equipment and molds for all of my soapmaking. The ingredients of a certain product may not contain one of these, but cross-contamination is always a possibility.
If you have any specific questions about an ingredient used or its source, I’m happy to answer them for you. You can email me anytime at darcy@preservingmysanity.com.
Shipping Information
How much does shipping cost?
All orders have a $5 flat rate shipping fee. Most orders cost more than this to ship, so I’m splitting the postage cost with you. This may change from time to time, based on postage and related costs. If you live local to me in Southwest Minnesota, you can choose local pickup at checkout and come pick it up for free.
When will my order ship?
All orders will ship within 2-5 business days, most often within 1-2 business days. If there is any variation from this, you will be notified as soon as possible after placing your order.
How long will my package take to arrive?
Items ship from my small town in Minnesota, and will typically take 4-10 business days to arrive to you, depending on where you live. Tracking will be provided by email once your order ships. While I process orders as quickly as possible upon receipt, I have no control over the speed of delivery once your package leaves my mailbox.
Where do you ship?
We ship nationwide within the United States.
Order Management
How can I check my order status?
You will receive an order confirmation email upon checkout, and another email when your order is shipped. Relevant information about your order status will be accessible in those emails, including tracking information.
